The show's return was up in the air for years, and while we still don't know when the new season will premiere, we can rest comfortably with the fact that it's actually happening.
During this long hiatus, the stars have kept themselves busy. Here's what the cast of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" has been up to since the end of the show's eighth season:
Jeff Garlin plays Larry's manager, best friend, and partner in crime Jeff Greene.
Garlin stars on the acclaimed ABC sitcom "The Goldbergs." He also hosts a podcast called "By the Way" where he's had guests like J.J. Abrams, Amy Poehler, and even Larry David.
Cheryl Hines plays Larry's ex-wife Cheryl. She only appeared once in season eight, but maybe we'll hear from her again in season nine.

Hines starred in "Suburgatory," which ended its three-season run in 2014.

Susie Essman plays Jeff's wife Susie. She's best known for scolding Larry with expletive-filled insults.

Essman has made appearances on several TV shows. The most memorable was as Ilana's mom in "Broad City" on season two. She was such a good fit for the show that they brought her back again in season three.

J.B. Smoove plays the freeloading Leon Black, who moved in with Larry and never moved out.
Smoove's scene-stealing performance on "Curb" has rightfully gotten him a lot of attention. He's had recurring roles on several shows, such as "The Middle." In 2014, he hosted the eighth season of "Last Comic Standing." He most recently appeared in "Barbershop: The Last Cut."

Comic Richard Lewis plays a twisted version of himself who continues to be friends with Larry David for reasons nobody will ever be able to understand.

Lewis has a recurring role as Walter Blunt's (Patrick Stewart) psychiatrist in the Starz series "Blunt Talk."
Larry David plays Larry David, the co-creator of "Seinfeld" and compulsive curmudgeon who has no ability to keep his worst thoughts to himself.

David serves as a comedy elder statesman of sorts. Besides the 2013 HBO movie "Clear History," David hasn't been working on many major projects. Most memorably, he reunited with Jerry Seinfeld for an episode of Seinfeld's web series "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee."
