IGNITION: The Future of Media will take place December 2-3, 2010, at the Time Warner Center in NYC.

Confirmed speakers include:

	Christopher Balfe President and COO, Mercury Radio Arts Inc. Balfe manages the day to day operations for all Glenn Beck related properties including The Glenn Beck Program, America’s third highest-rated radio show. Since 2003, Balfe has helped spearhead the company’s growth and expansion into a fully integrated multi-media enterprise with projects spanning the radio, television, digital, publishing and touring industries.

	Jim Bankoff CEO and Chairman, SB Nation SB is the country’s largest and fastest-growing online sports media company. Prior, Jim was an EVP at AOL, where he developed and led popular websites including AOL.com, AOL Music, Mapquest, Moviefone, TMZ, Fanhouse, BloggingStocks, and Engadget. He served as a Senior Advisor at Providence Equity Partners, the largest private equity firm focused on media and communications.

	John Bax CFO, livingsocial Prior to livingsocial and RecycleBank, John served as the CFO of Sentient, where he saw the company through to record growth and profitability. Prior to Sentient, John was Vice President of Planning and Analysis for Wal-Mart Stores, where he was responsible for financial and strategic planning and analysis for the world's largest company.

	Brian Bedol Founder & Managing Director, Bedrocket Media Ventures Mediaweek Magazine has called Bedol "a maverick entrepreneur in an increasingly mature industry dominated by conglomerates" for his ability to recognize opportunities before they are seen by more established industry players. He is best known for founding, operating, and selling two successful sports content brands: Classic Sports Network (ESPN Classic), and CSTV: College Sports Television (CBS College Sports).

	George Bell President and CEO, Jumptap Prior to joining Jumptap, George was managing director of VC firm General Catalyst Partners, and before that, he was CEO of Upromise. Previously, George was Chairman and CEO of Excite@Home. Earlier George founded The Outdoor Life Network (now Versus), and SVP, Times Mirror Magazines, where he oversaw eight special interest magazines.

	Henry Blodget CEO & Editor-in-Chief, Business Insider Henry is the co-host of Yahoo! TechTicker, a video show viewed by several million people per month. He is the author of The Wall Street Defense Manual: A Consumer's Guide to Investing; he has been a frequent guest on CNBC, CNN, MSNBC and NPR; and has contributed to the Atlantic, Slate, The New York Times, Fortune, and other publications. From 1994-2001, Henry worked in corporate finance and equity research and was ranked the No.1 Internet and eCommerce analyst on Wall Street.

	John Borthwick CEO, betaworks betaworks is an Internet media company with a number of investments in the real-time web, the context web (structured data), and the social web (social media), including bit.ly and TweetDeck. Prior to launching betaworks, John was CEO of Fotolog, a photo blogging site. Before Fotolog, John worked as the SVP of Technology and Alliances at Time Warner Inc.

	Bob Bowman CEO, MLB.com Leading the Web TV revolution, Bob Bowman is CEO of Major League Baseball Advanced Media. Prior to managing the interactive and internet rights of Major League Baseball, Bowman worked as COO and CFO of ITT Corporation, serving as Treasurer of the State of Michigan in the 1980's. He currently serves as President of the Michigan Education Trust and as a director of Blockbuster. the Warnaco Group and Geeknet.

	Deanna Brown President & COO, Federated Media Brown is a seasoned media executive and now has more than 20 years of experience ranging from entrepreneur to Fortune 500 executive. In 1995 she co-founded CondeNet, the digital division of publisher CondeNast. She has also held VP and General Manager titles at Yahoo and AOL, and founded other successful media companies including Powerful Media/Inside.com and Gaming Industry News.

	Garrett Camp Founder & CEO, StumbleUpon Garrett has guided StumbleUpon’s development since 2001, from inception to 10M registered members. StumbleUpon is the largest personalized content discovery engine on the web, delivering over 500 million personalized recommendations per month from its index of 45 million human-submitted pages.

	John Caplan Founder and CEO, OpenSky OpenSky is an NYC-based company whose platform allows consumers to conveniently buy directly from bloggers and tastemakers they trust. Prior to founding OpenSky in April 2009, John served as the CEO of Ford Models, Inc., which he sold to a private equity buyer in 2007.

	Nicholas Carlson Editor, Silicon Alley Insider for Business Insider Previously, he reported for Gawker Media's Silicon Valley blog, Valleywag, and before that at InternetNews.com. He also worked as a freelance podcast editor at Doctors Without Borders. Nicholas began his career at Merill Lynch in the brokerage division.

	Steve Case Chairman and CEO, Revolution Co-Founder, America Online Chairman, The Case Foundation Steve Case launched Revolution, a company that seeks to drive transformative change by shifting power to consumers, in 2005. Revolution's current activities encompass investments in well-known brands, such as Zipcar, LivingSocial and Exclusive Resorts. Previously, Steve was the Chair and CEO of America Online, Inc., and later, the Chairman of AOL Time Warner. He also serves as co-chair of the Obama Administration’s National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

	Sarah Chubb President, Condé Nast Digital Sarah Chubb oversees 26 award-winning Web sites in a diverse range of categories, as well as the development of digital reader apps for magazines including GQ, Vanity Fair, Glamour and The New Yorker. Under Ms. Chubb’s direction, Condé Nast Digital sites have won numerous industry accolades.

	Scott Dadich Executive Director, Digital Magazine Development, Conde Nast From 2006–2010, Dadich was the creative director of Condé Nast's WIRED, where he led the development of WIRED for iPad. More recently, Dadich worked closely with the editorial and art teams at The New Yorker to launch The New Yorker Tablet Edition. Dadich is the only magazine professional in history to have won both the National Magazine Award (NMA) for Design and the Society of Publication Designers (SPD) Magazine of the Year award three consecutive years in a row: 2008, 2009, and 2010. Dadich is currently at work on Platon's upcoming book, Power, which features portraits of more than 100 world leaders.

	Mitch Davis CEO and Co-Founder, LiveGamer Named as one of the most influential people in the video game industry by the Wall Street Journal in 2006, Davis is a digital media pioneer with a long record of entrepreneurial success. As Founder and CEO of Massive Incorporated, he revolutionized the videogame industry with the introduction of the world’s first and largest in-game advertising network.

	Nick Denton Founder and President, Gawker Media Denton has been working in Internet media since 1996, first covering the topic for the Financial Times, then founding two companies: First Tuesday, an events business, and Moreover Technologies, a news search business. He founded Gawker Media in 2002.

	Chris Dixon Co-founder and CEO, Hunch In the past, he served as CEO and co-founder at SiteAdvisor, associate at Bessemer Venture Partners and Lead Software Developer at Arbitrade. Dixon received his B.A. from Columbia and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

	Dan Frommer Founding Member & Editor, Business Insider & Silicon Alley Insider He joined in 2007 from Forbes, where he was a technology reporter focusing on the wireless, telecom, and networking industries. Dan also created and co-hosted "The Download" a Web video show about gadgets and tech companies.

	Linda Bornhuetter Gridley President and CEO, Gridley & Company LLC Gridley has over twenty years of investment banking experience. She regularly appears in the business and trade media as an industry expert on a range of issues related to traditional and digital advertising, social media, marketing, and M&A. Her insights have been featured in USA Today, Fortune, Financial Times, Advertising Age, and Adweek, among others.

	Julie Hansen COO & Publisher, Business Insider Prior to joining Business Insider, Hansen relaunched NCAA.com for CBS Sports. She led the group that produced magazine web sites for Conde Nast ranging from Newyorker.com to Teenvogue.com and before that built the #1 web site for golfers at Time Inc.

	Carla Hendra Chairman of Global Strategy and Innovation Practice, Ogilvy and Mather Worldwide As a driver of digital, data, and technology innovation during her 15 year Ogilvy tenure, Carla led OgilvyInteractive N.A. from 1998 forward, founded OgilvyOne's Consulting unit in 1999, started up the Digital Innovation Group in 2002, and launched VERGE, Ogilvy’s global digital summit series, in 2004.

	Eric Hippeau CEO, Huffington Post Eric Hippeau is the CEO of The Huffington Post, a leading news and opinion site. Prior to joining HuffPost, Hippeau was managing partner at venture capital fund Softbank Capital.

	Arianna Huffington Editor-in-Chief & Co-Founder, The Huffington Post Arianna Huffington co-founded The Huffington Post, a widely-read news and blog website, in 2005. She has authored a dozen books and has a constant media presence. Huffington hails from Greece and graduated Cambridge University with an M.A. in economics.

	Jeff Jarvis Author and Professor, City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism Notably, Jarvis is the author of What Would Google Do? Buzzmachine.com is his influential blog about media and news. He is also consulting editor and a partner at Daylife, a news startup.

	Mark Josephson CEO, Outside.in Mark Josephson is CEO of Outside.in since April 2008 and has been building new media businesses since 1995.Outside.in aggregates, organizes, distributes and monetizes local new for partners including CNN, NBC, Dow Jones, McClathy, Gannett. Prior, Mark was President and CMO of Seevast Corp, which builds and operates proprietary and publisher ad networks.

	Peter Kafka Senior Editor, All Things Digital Kafka joined ATD in October 2008, covering media and technology. Prior to that he was the first hire at Silicon Alley Insider and before SAI he spent 10 years as a reporter and editor at Forbes.com and Forbes magazine.

	Patrick Keane Former CEO, Associated Content Former EVP and Chief Marketing Officer of CBS Interactive and Google Advertising and Product Executive Patrick Keane was named Chief Executive Officer of Associated Content, Inc., in March, 2009. Under Patrick's leadership the company grew audience and revenue over 100% and the company was sold to Yahoo!. Patrick is a former member of the IAB's Board of Directors and was featured in Ad Age's "40 Under 40" 2007 list and the 209 Silicon Alley 100 list.

	Jason Kilar CEO, Hulu, LLC. Jason joined Hulu after nearly a decade of experience at Amazon.com where he served in a variety of leadership roles. After writing the original business plan for Amazon’s entry into the video and DVD businesses, he became Vice President and General Manager of Amazon’s North American media businesses, which included the company’s books, music, video, and DVD categories.

	Gavin Kim Vice President, Content, Data Services & Enterprise Mobility, Samsung Kim serves on the Board of Directors of the Mobile Entertainment Forum Americas. Prior to his role at Samsung he was VP, Telecommunication, Mobile, and Media at VC firm Advanced Technology Ventures. Previously he was director of product operations at Motorola and director, Asia Pacific sales at PacketVideo Corp.

	David Kirkpatrick Tech journalist David Kirkpatrick specializes in the computer and technology industries, as well as the impact of the Internet on society. His best-selling book, "The Facebook Effect:The Inside Story of the Company That Is Connecting the World," about Facebook's history and how it is changing behaviors across societies worldwide, was published in 2010. The book was also a finalist for FT/Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year. He is a member of the World Economic Forum's International Media and Council and the Council on Foreign Relations.

	John Kosner Senior Vice President & General Manager, ESPN Digital Media John Kosner leads all of ESPN’s Digital Media properties, including ESPN.com, ESPN3.com, ESPN’s signature live sports broadband network; and all content development for Mobile, Interactive Television, Interactive Gaming, and other emerging digital media. Kosner, a 27-year veteran of sports media, joined ESPN.com in December 1999. Prior to ESPN, Kosner worked at CBS Sports, the NBA (where he headed up the league’s broadcasting department for seven years) and Sports Illustrated, where he developed television and interactive programming for Sports Illustrated and SI for Kids magazines.

	Larry Kramer Author, C-SCAPE Larry Kramer started his career in the newsroom as an assistant managing editor of The Washington Post and executive editor of the San Francisco Examiner. He went on to create the internet media company, CBS Marketwatch, which sold to Dow Jones for $528 million and then led digital operations at CBS. As Larry Kramer has made a career of helping to blend the cultures and business practices of traditional and new media.

	Kevin Krim Global Head, Web Properties, Bloomberg Krim is the general manager of global consumer online businesses at Bloomberg LP. Before that, he worked as the VP for product and strategy for Yahoo! HotJobs and Yahoo! Small Business. In 2006, Krim was general manager of LiveJournal.com. Previously, he was vice president for Web properties at LookSmart Ltd., where he led vertical search destinations including FindArticles.com, Furl.net, and Zeal.com.

	Scott Kurnit Founder, Chairman, & CEO, AdKeeper Scott’s responsibility at AdKeeper is to make it wildly successful. Prior, Scott founded and served as chairman and CEO of About, Inc. as it grew to a public market value of $1.7 billion and was the 5th largest of all Web properties. Kurnit sold About U.S. to Primedia in 2001 for $724 million. Scott has been a Filmmaker, TV Director, Station Program Manager, Marketer and CEO. He has worked at the highest levels of Warner, Viacom, News Corp., PBS, IBM, and MCI companies.

	Jim Lanzone CEO, Clicker.com Jim Lanzone is the founder and CEO of Clicker.com, launched in November 2009, which provides the first comprehensive, unbiased, and structured programming guide for Internet television. Clicker was named one of the Top 100 Sites of 2010 by PCMagazine, OnMedia's Top 100 Private Companies, 8 Companies That Are Reinventing Television by Mashable, and 5 Best PC Movie & TV Services by PCWorld. Jim is the former CEO of Ask.com.

	Todd Larsen President, Dow Jones Larsen leads the business operations of the Wall Street Journal, Newswires, Factiva and other products, including advertising, sales, marketing and product development. Prior to this year, he was chief operating officer of the Consumer Media Group where he was responsible for strategy, business development, financial management and day-to-day operations of the unit. Previously, he had been president of what Dow Jones then called the Consumer Electronic Publishing business, which included WSJ.com and other online businesses. He joined Dow Jones in 1999 from Booz Allen & Hamilton.

	Michael Lazerow Chairman & CEO, Buddy Media Michael Lazerow is a serial entrepreneur who co-founded Buddy Media, Inc., a privately held company that offers some of the world’s largest brands social media solutions, in 2007. Prior, while attending Northwestern University, Michael founded University Wire (now owned by CBS), a network of 700+ student-run newspapers. He also later founded GOLF.com, which was purchased by Time Warner’s Time Inc. division in 2006.

	Ben Lerer Co-founder, Thrillist Ben Lerer is CEO and co-founder of Thrillist, a no-BS city guide geared to young men.

	Drew Lipsher Partner, Greycroft LLC Drew Lipsher has over fourteen years of media and entertainment corporate development and investment experience. Lipsher has spent his career in the media industry as a senior strategic planning and corporate development executive and has operated at senior levels at Warner Music Group, BMG Entertainment, News Corporation and Interscope Geffen A&M Records. His experiences cover all aspects including investments, M&A, operations, strategic planning, business development, technology, restructurings and divestitures. As a senior executive, he worked closely with top management of business units to help set, plan and execute strategies.

	Juan Lopez-Valcarcel Director Digital Product and Consumer Technology, Pearson Juan oversees Pearson's mobile and tablet products and is responsible for new business development with consumer technology companies. Pearson is the international company behind the Financial Times, Penguin books and multiple Education businesses.

	Glynnis MacNicol Editor, The Wire, Business Insider Glynnis MacNicol is the editor of Business Insider's media page, The Wire. She was formerly the senior editor of Mediaite.com, the media news, opinion, and rankings site launched by former MSNBC anchor/GM Dan Abrams in July 2009. Prior to Mediaite, Glynnis was the editor of FishbowlNY, the mediabistro.com blog about New York media and was a regular contributor to Playboy.com during the 2008 Presidential election year. She began her media career as an associate editor at the Huffington Post media blog Eat the Press.

	Kirk McDonald President, Time Inc. Digital As President of Time Inc. Digital, Kirk McDonald brings together Time Inc.’s collective digital assets to deliver audience solutions to clients. With over 50 million unique users across the company’s branded sites, McDonald offers advertisers quality environments, valuable audiences, and significant reach and scale. McDonald is a seasoned multi-media veteran who has held positions at DRIVEpm and Atlas, CNET, Ziff-Davis, and Conde Nast.

	Erin McPherson VP & Head of Originals and Video Programming, Yahoo! McPherson oversees development, production and content partnerships for original programming, and is also responsible for programming Yahoo! Video. Previously, she was VP and Head of Business Development for Yahoo! Media in North America. Before joining Yahoo!, McPherson was an entertainment attorney, representing actors, directors, writers and producers at Stone, Meyer, Genow, Smelinkson & Binder. Previously, she was senior director of business and legal affairs at LivePlanet, the integrated media company founded by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

	Jon Miller Chief Digital Officer, Chairman and CEO, Digital Media Group & News Corporation Prior to News Corporation, Jon was a founding partner of Velocity Interactive Group, an investment firm focusing on digital media and the consumer Internet space. Previously, Miller was Chairman and CEO of AOL from 2002 to 2006. Jon was also the CEO and President of USA Information and Services - now IACI and Expedia - and also served as Managing Director of Nickelodeon International, a unit of Viacom's MTV Networks.

	Wenda Harris Millard President, MediaLink LLC Millard heads MediaLink, an advisory firm that provides critical counsel and strategic direction to the media, advertising entertainment, and tech industries. Prior to that, Millard spearheaded Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia as Co-CEO and President.

	Dave Morgan CEO, Simulmedia A serial entrepreneur, Morgan was founder, CEO and Chairman of both TACODA, Inc., an online behavioral targeting company that was acquired by AOL, and Real Media, Inc., one of the world’s first ad-serving companies and a predecessor to 24/7 Real Media (TFSM), which was later sold to WPP for $649 million.

	Gene Munster Managing Director and Senior Research Analyst, Piper Jaffray Munster specializes in internet research and has covered the digital media space since 1995. His coverage includes companies like Google, Yahoo!, Amazon, Baidu and MercadoLibre. Munster is quoted frequently in key financial and technical journals.

	Olaf Olafsson EVP, Time Warner Olaf Olafsson is Executive Vice President of Time Warner, responsible for corporate strategy and investments. Previously, as founder, president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Inc., he was responsible for the introduction of the acclaimed PlayStation, among other initiatives. Olafsson is also author of several novels, as well as a collection of short stories, "Valentines" (Pantheon, 2007).

	Rajat Paharia Chief Product Officer, Bunchball Bunchball are the pioneers in the field of gamification – using game mechanics in non-gaming contexts to drive engagement, loyalty and revenue for the world’s leading brands and media, including Bravo, Warner Bros, Comcast, USA Network, Hasbro and MySpace. Before Bunchball, Rajat worked at IDEO, Philips Consumer Electronics and IBM Research.

	David Pakman Partner, Venrock As a Partner at Venrock in New York, David focuses on early stage venture investing in internet and digital media companies. His active investments include Media6Degrees, Smartling and Crunchyroll. Pakman was the CEO of eMusic, one of the world’s leading digital retailer of independent music. After buying eMusic from Vivendi Universal, in the three years that Pakman ran it, he grew the business by more than 850%, from $7M in revenues to more than $68M.

	Bo Peabody Co-founder & Managing General Partner, Village Ventures Peabody heads Village Ventures, an early stage venture firm with $150MM under management as well as a service and knowledge sharing platform serving a network of 14 venture funds with $0.5 Billion under management. In 1992, Bo founded Tripod, Inc., one of the original social networks. Companies he has co-founded include Streetmail (now called Waterfront Media), VoodooVox, FullTurn Media, and UplayMe.

	Arden Pennell Program Director, Business Insider Pennell creates executive conferences on media, technology, and investing. Prior, she programmed TechCrunch Disrupt NYC and AlwaysOn OnMedia. Her goal is to learn from and empower people.

	Jonah Peretti Founder, BuzzFeed Jonah Peretti is Founder and CEO of aggregator site Buzzfeed, and Co-Founder of Huffington Post.

	Tom Phillips President and CEO, Media6Degrees Tom has been a media and technology innovator for over 20 years. Tom served on the management team of Starwave Corporation in 1993, where he led the teams that developed ESPN.com, NBA.com, NFL.com, Ticketmaster.com, ABCNews.com In 2006, Tom joined Google's North American Sales Organization. He served as Director of Print Ads, Director of Media Platforms and Director of the DoubleClick integration, before establishing the Search & Analytics team to pioneer new uses for Google data on behalf of major advertising clients.

	David Poltrack Chief Research Officer, CBS Poltrack oversees all research operations at CBS encompassing audience measurement, market research, program testing, and advertising research. He joined CBS in 1969 and has held a variety of positions in research and marketing; before CBS, he was with the media department at Ted Bates Advertising.

	Avner Ronen CEO, Boxee Avner Ronen is CEO of Boxee, a "social" media center, whose free, open source, downloadable software allows consumers to enjoy content across platforms. Named one of Rolling Stone's "Agents of Change" for 2009, Ronen was prior the Head of Corporate Development and M&A for Comverse, Inc. Ronen was responsible for acquisitions valued at $450M, which were key to the company's evolution from a Voicemail company to a Billing and VAS provider.

	Kevin Ryan CEO & Founder, Gilt Groupe Kevin Ryan is a technology innovator and entrepreneur. Prior to Gilt Groupe, he was CEO of DoubleClick and helped build the interactive ad giant into a multi-billion dollar global industry leader, which was ultimately acquired by Google in March, 2008 for $3.1 billion. Kevin is also chairman of Business Insider.

	Ian Schafer CEO & Founder, Deep Focus Deep Focus is an award-winning interactive engagement and innovation agency. Considered by many as one of advertising’s most influential voices, Ian was named a ‘Media Maven’ by Advertising Age and one of Adweek’s “Young Ones.” Ian also sits on the executive board of the Social Media Advertising Consortium.

	Julie Schoenfeld CEO, Perfect Market Inc. Julie previously was a founding member and CEO of two other successful venture-backed startups. From its creation in 2000 to February 2007, Julie was president-CEO of OEwaves Inc. Before that, Julie was president-CEO of Net Effect Systems Inc. Prior to Net Effect, she was VP of worldwide sales for Stream International, where she grew sales from $30 million to more than $200 million in three years. A recognized industry spokesperson, she serves on the board of the Young Presidents Organization of Los Angeles (YPOLA).

	Naveen Selvadurai, Co-founder, Foursquare Prior to founding foursquare, Naveen was Lead Architect at Socialight and was a Senior Software Architect with the Global Digital Business group at Sony Music Entertainment, where he oversaw and developed various applications that dealt with content management and distribution of mobile products including Sony's Music Box mobile application. Before Sony, he consulted for New York-based Run Tones and enjoyed software engineering stints at Sun Microsystems and Lucent Technologies.

	Tina Sharkey Chairman & Global President, Johnson and Johnson’s BabyCenter Tina Sharkey has more than 20 years of experience in the evolution of new media, ranging from the introduction of HDTV to co-founding iVillage and leading programming and social networking initiatives for AOL. She has been named as a top leader in Technology by Businessweek, Fast Company, USA Today and AdAge, and serves on the boards of the IAB and Ad-tech. Currently, Tina leads BabyCenter, the #1 pregnancy and parenting destination worldwide and provider of mom insights and innovative interactive marketing solutions to the world's top brands.

	Andrew Ross Sorkin Andrew Ross Sorkin is The New York Times’s chief mergers and acquisitions reporter and a columnist. Mr. Sorkin is also the editor of DealBook, an online daily financial report he started in 2001. In addition, Sorkin is an assistant editor of business and finance news, helping guide and shape the paper’s coverage. He is also the author of "Too Big To Fail."

	Rachel Sklar Editor at Large, Mediaite; Co-Founder, Change The Ratio Sklar is a former senior editor at the Huffington Post, and the founder of social microgiving site Charitini.com and the co-founder of Change The Ratio, which promotes visibility, access and opportunity for women in new media and tech. She is an advisor to SBNation.com and TeachAIDS.org, and was named to the SAI 100 in 2009 and 2010. Rachel was formerly a corporate lawyer in New York and Stockholm and where she never learned to like herring.

	Jim Spanfellar Founder, President, & CEO, The Spanfeller Media Group The first site from SMG, TheDailyMeal.com was launched this fall and covers all things food. Prior to this position he served as the President and CEO of Forbes.com, home page for the world’s business leaders, reaching 20 million business decision makers each month. In this position, Spanfeller oversaw Forbes Digital, which included Forbes.com, ForbesTraveler.com, Investopedia.com, RealClearPolitics.com, RealClearMarkets.com, RealClearSports.com, and the Forbes.com Business and Finance Blog Network, which together reach 42 million unique monthly visitors.

	Joel Spolsky Founder of Fog Creek Software and co-creator of stackoverflow.com. Joel has written four books about software development, and his website www.joelonsoftware.com is popular with software developers around the world.
