Travel Insured International Cost

Travel insurance typically falls between 4% and 8% of the total cost of your trip. However, this will depend on your age, trip duration, and trip cost.

Travel Insured International is generally on the expensive side for most single travelers. However, it's worth mentioning that both the Deluxe and Platinum plans offer child-inclusive pricing, which means minors traveling with an adult are covered for free.

Now let's look at a few examples to estimate Travel Insured International's travel insurance costs.

A 23-year-old from Illinois taking a weeklong, $3,000 budget trip to Italy would have the following travel insurance quotes:

  • Worldwide Trip Protector Essential: $92
  • Worldwide Trip Protector Deluxe: $104
  • Worldwide Trip Protector Platinum: $133

Premiums for Travel Insured International plans are between 3.1% and 4.4% of the trip's cost, well within the average cost of travel insurance.

Travel Insured International provides the following quotes for a 30-year-old traveler from California heading to Japan for two weeks on a $4,000 trip:

  • Worldwide Trip Protector Essential: $120
  • Worldwide Trip Protector Deluxe: $135
  • Worldwide Trip Protector Platinum: $168

Once again, premiums for Travel Insured International plans are between 3% and 4.2% of the trip's cost, within and below the expected range of travel insurance costs.

A Texas family consisting of two 40-year-old parents with a 10-year-old and 4-year-old on a two-week trip to Australia for $20,000:

  • Worldwide Trip Protector Essential: $600
  • Worldwide Trip Protector Deluxe: $358
  • Worldwide Trip Protector Platinum: $592

  • Worldwide Trip Protector Essential: $304
  • Worldwide Trip Protector Deluxe: $352

Travel Insured International Travel Insurance Customer Reviews and Ratings

Travel Insured International has overall positive customer reviews, receiving an average of 4.4 stars out of 5 on its SquareMouth page and 4.3 stars out of 5 on its Trustpilot page. Its BBB page reviews are more mixed, receiving an average of 3.32 stars out of 5.

Customers were very complimentary of the buying process, saying that customer service representatives were helpful and knowledgeable about policy options.

The reviews were less complimentary of the claims process. They mentioned long wait times for claims. One reviewer said in mid-February 2025 that their claim from November 2024 is still pending. Additionally, customers reported high burdens of proof for claims, and many felt their claims were unfairly denied.

It's also worth mentioning that reviews on SquareMouth are generally inflated. The worst-reviewed provider is Azimuth Risk Solutions, with an average score of 3.92 while the highest provider is GeoBlue, with a 4.64. With this context, Travel Insured International still comes out on the higher side of reviewed providers.

For a more balanced perspective on Travel Insured International's services, let's look at some third-party ratings.

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners' complaint index rates insurance companies based on how many complaints they receive against its share of the market. A 1.00 means that a company has an expected number of complaints based on its size. A lower score indicates fewer complaints than expected and a higher number indicates more complaints than expected.

United States Fire Insurance Company, the underwriter for Travel Insured International and another Crum & Forster company, scored 0.27, indicating that it has far fewer complaints than expected.

Crum & Forster has an A (Excellent) Financial Strength Rating from AM Best, indicating it is likely to meet its financial obligations, like paying out claims.
