Tana Mongeau is officially coming back to MTV for a second season of "No Filter," which the network tells Insider will debut on its YouTube channel in February 2020, following her holiday special "Here Comes Tana Claus."
The first season, "Tana Turns 21," chronicled Mongeau's jam-packed 2019. When it first started, she was still lingering on her TanaCon disaster and getting over a cheating ex-boyfriend. By the time the first season concluded, she had thrown an elaborate wedding celebration with Jake Paul and gotten invited to VidCon — for real this time.
In "Here Comes Tana Claus," the YouTuber, her manager Jordan Worona, and her best friends all reappear. Mongeau joins Worona and his family for Hannukah, and contemplates her own relationship with her family and who she'll spend Christmas with.
Mongeau told Insider she's 'still learning how to be an adult'
Those themes are set to carry over to the new season of "No Filter," Mongeau told Insider.
"I'm so excited to bring people back into my world for Season 2, which will be all about dealing with my changing friendships and crazy family life," Mongeau said. "I'm pursuing some exciting new business ventures and still learning how to be an adult while sharing my life in the spotlight."
On her own YouTube channel, she's addressed her home life before. In "finally opening up about growing up/my insane dad," which Mongeau uploaded almost two years ago, she shared wild personal stories.
After her whirlwind engagement to Paul, this year's "Creator of the Year" Streamys awardee took some time at home in Vegas with her family for undisclosed reasons, so it's possible she'll delve into what happened behind-the-scenes in the new season of "No Filter."
When the first season of "No Filter" debuted in July, some fans wondered how the MTV YouTube series would differ from Mongeau's vlogs and videos on her own channel. But the series has done well for MTV, with the premiere getting more than 7 million views.
As it turned out, the drama in "No Filter" played off Mongeau's real-life drama. It gave an additional perspective on her relationship with Paul — which has unfolded across platforms. It also gave Mongeau's manager and her friends an additional chance to shine, boosting their viral profiles, as well.
